This project aims to construct a cyclone-resistant and fireproof school in a highly isolated village within the Brickaville district, located on the eastern coast of Madagascar. The facility will feature three classrooms, a principal’s office, a school infirmary, and essential ancillary facilities, all designed to maximize the positive impact on the beneficiary communities.
Adjacent to the school, a nursery will be established to provide local residents with income-generating trees. The beneficiaries will also receive training on the proper techniques for monitoring and harvesting these tree species, thereby building local capacity for the sustainable management of natural resources. In parallel, training sessions will be organized for the wider community, covering topics such as literacy, hygiene and sanitation (WASH), and income-generating activities (Village Savings and Loans, VSL). These initiatives are designed to foster community empowerment and improve overall living conditions.
Through these combined efforts, the project seeks to strengthen the resilience of the local population and provide children from 11 surrounding villages with a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment conducive to a quality education.
We will use the second half of 2025 to set up the project team at each of the three partner organizations.
