Sekoly for All, It's Cool!

The "Sekoly for all, it's cool!" project aims to raise awareness among Luxembourg children about the realities experienced by their Malagasy counterparts, with an emphasis on education, culture, ecology, as well as social and economic life. The term “Sekoly” means “school” in Malagasy.

Project objectives

Overall objective: To introduce children to the overall situation of their counterparts in Madagascar, particularly in terms of education, culture, ecology, and social and economic life.
Specific objective: To enable young participants to understand the inequalities in access to quality education between Luxembourg and Madagascar, while raising awareness of the living conditions of Malagasy children.

Main activities :

Educational and Fun Workshops: Organization of workshops in Luxembourg primary schools to inform students about Malagasy realities through interactive activities.

Intercultural Exchanges: Connecting Luxembourgish and Malagasy classes to foster cultural and educational exchanges, particularly through correspondence between students.

Exhibition at the Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg: During July 2021, an exhibition dedicated to Madagascar was presented, including a traditional dugout canoe built by students from Atert-Lycée Redange, symbolizing Malagasy culture.

Description

This project, supported by the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, aims to awaken the critical thinking of young Luxembourgers about global inequalities and to encourage them to commit to a more equitable world.
